PLUS Malaysia and Yinson GreenTech partnership for EV charging hub at Seremban R&R on North-South Expressway

The largest highway operator in the country, PLUS Malaysia, has teamed up with Yinson GreenTech to build the country's first retail and EV charging center at the Seremban Rest and Service Area (Southbound) on the North-South Expressway (NSE).

These hubs will assist Malaysia in reaching the National Energy Transition Roadmap's objective of having net-zero emissions by 2050. They will improve the nation's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, creating a strong and dependable network along important thoroughfares.

To provide a lively stopover experience, PLUS will be in charge of the development and administration of the hub's food and beverage (F&B) and commercial retail components.

To help EV users who are concerned about their range, Yinson GreenTech will install, run, and maintain high-speed direct current (DC) fast chargers.

“This partnership is an important step in supporting Malaysia’s Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2030,” said Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, Managing Director of PLUS. “It also moves us closer to building a smart, eco-friendly highway that gives our customers a better travel experience.”

With 112 DC fast-charging stations now activated on PLUS highways, the project surpasses the 2025 target of 10,000 EV charging stations countrywide, which is in line with the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry.
