Evera Cabs Takes Over 500 BluSmart EVs, Targets Airport Segment Dominance
- Evera Cabs has integrated 220 of BluSmart’s EVs and is in the process of reclaiming 280 more.
- Around 150 BluSmart drivers have joined Evera, with 10% of new recruits being women.
In a major shift within India’s electric mobility landscape, Evera Cabs, operated by Prakriti Mobility, has begun repossessing 500 electric vehicles (EVs) previously owned and run by BluSmart.
The move follows BluSmart’s sudden suspension of services in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru after regulatory action from SEBI against its parent entity, Gensol Engineering, over alleged fund diversion and governance lapses.
With 220 cabs already integrated into its fleet and the remaining 280 in the process of being reclaimed, Evera is executing a multi-phase expansion strategy. These vehicles are being reclaimed through BluSmart's lenders as part of Evera's broader realignment efforts.
“What we’re executing is not just a scale-up, it is a realignment of the electric mobility narrative in India,” said Nimish Trivedi, co-founder and CEO of Evera.
Trivedi also said that as key players recalibrate, Evera is stepping forward with clear intent, absorbing proven EV assets and trusted drivers to ensure uninterrupted service across key routes.

Operating in the B2B segment since 2022, Evera is best known for its electric cab services at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Previously limited to Terminal 3, the operator now plans to extend services across all terminals using the expanded fleet. This is expected to reduce passenger wait times and improve service reliability.
In addition to vehicles, Evera is also onboarding BluSmart drivers. Around 150 drivers have already begun operating under the Evera banner, and 10% of new recruits are women, highlighting Evera's push for inclusive workforce development.
