MPA-Yinson GreenTech Pact Signals Greener Maritime Era
- The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and Yinson GreenTech have partnered to enhance maritime sustainability using electric harbor craft and real-time data integration.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and Yinson GreenTech, a leading supplier of green technology solutions, have partnered to promote sustainable maritime practices and support Singapore's goal of becoming an intelligent, environmentally friendly port.
Formally established by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on June 5, 2025, the partnership aims to revolutionize port operations by using state-of-the-art digital and green technologies.
As part of the deal, Yinson GreenTech will exchange operational insights and real-time data from its fleet of electric harbor craft, which includes the groundbreaking Hydromover, Singapore's first entirely electric cargo ship.
By improving the Maritime Digital Twin (MDT), a virtual representation of Singapore's port, this data will enable more precise modeling, scenario testing, and optimal fleet deployment.
In keeping with MPA's objective of having all new port craft entirely electric or powered by low-carbon fuels by 2030, the agreement also includes co-developing digital procedures to expand electric vessel operations.

“We are delighted to be collaborating once more with MPA to advance the decarbonization of Singapore’s maritime sector,” said Jan Viggo Johansen, Managing Director of Yinson GreenTech’s marine.
He also stated that, together with the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA), they are driving greater efficiencies, further optimizing port operations, and introducing groundbreaking innovations through data that support the transformation of Singapore’s harbor craft industry.
The statement said this partnership shows Yinson GreenTech’s ongoing commitment to providing clean and eco-friendly transport solutions in the maritime industry.
The company said it is connecting its ships, charging stations, and digital systems to share information in real time. This helps them run more efficiently and supports Singapore’s goal of becoming an eco-friendly port.
