Indian Startup Funding Weekly Roundup: $210M Raised This Week

Indian startups raised $210.3 million across 23 deals in the final week of August, a 9.8% decline from the $233.2 million raised by 19 startups the previous week.

Ecommerce and advanced hardware & technology dominated activity, together accounting for $108.4 million, more than half of the week's total capital deployed.

Third Wave Coffee led the week with a $43 million round backed by WestBridge Capital and Creagis. The round included a mix of primary and secondary transactions.

The advanced hardware sector saw Airbound raise $37 million in a Series A round led by Greenoaks, with participation from DoorDash, Lightspeed, and others.

EV startup MATTER raised $25 million from investors including Helena and Capital 2B, while AI application-layer company Runable secured a $21 million Series A led by Susquehanna Venture Capital and Nexus Venture Partners.

On the early-stage side, three seed and pre-seed startups raised a combined $3.45 million, including a $2.2 million seed round for D2C skincare brand Be Clinical.

Capital 2B and Equanimity Investments were the most active investors during the week, each participating in two deals.

The week also saw notable M&A activity. Infineon Technologies is acquiring Peak XV-backed semiconductor firm C2i Semiconductors. Healthify merged with US-based Berry Street to build an AI-driven metabolic health platform for the American market.

For global investors tracking the India–Gulf corridor, the resilience of early-stage deal volume 23 startups closing rounds in a single week signals continued depth in the pipeline, even as aggregate dollar figures fluctuate week to week.

The concentration of capital in ecommerce and deep tech also matches the maturing thesis that India's startup ecosystem is moving beyond pure software into hardware, EVs, and space infrastructure.

In parallel, new domestic fund announcements added capital supply to the ecosystem: Micromax launched a ₹250 crore family office for deeptech, and The/Nudge Foundation's TILT platform unveiled a ₹250 crore fund targeting startups serving India's next billion users.
