Oracle and xAI announce strategic alliance to add Grok 3 model to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for enterprise AI

Oracle and xAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced a strategic alliance to incorporate xAI's cutting-edge Grok 3 model into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's (OCI) Generative AI service.

The goal of this partnership is to provide corporate clients with state-of-the-art AI capabilities that will improve applications in research, business process automation, and content production.

Launched in February 2025, Grok 3 boasts improved reasoning capabilities honed through extensive reinforcement learning, positioning it to compete with top AI models like DeepSeek and OpenAI.

Grok 3 will be hosted on Oracle's cloud platform, guaranteeing a safe, enterprise-grade deployment with zero data retention endpoints, meeting business requirements for compliance and data privacy.

According to Jimmy Ba, co-founder of xAI, "Grok 3 represents a leap forward in AI capabilities, and Oracle’s advanced data platform will accelerate its impact on enterprises."

Oracle's approach frames it as an impartial "AI supermarket," providing Grok 3 and a portfolio of models from suppliers like Meta, Mistral, and Cohere.

By leveraging Oracle's robust security and infrastructure, this approach enables companies to integrate cutting-edge AI without developing proprietary models.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure senior vice president Karan Batta emphasised that Grok 3 will enable business users to leverage AI innovation while maintaining current security measures.

The cooperation further strengthens Oracle's position in the cutthroat cloud market. It also includes xAI using OCI's AI infrastructure to train and operate its next-generation models.

Leaders in the field, like Kaushik Bhanderi of Windstream, believe Grok 3 can improve workflows by utilising sophisticated language comprehension and reasoning.

This action positions Oracle as a major player in the developing AI landscape and demonstrates its dedication to promoting AI-driven enterprise solutions.
