A revolutionary robotic system driven by artificial intelligence (AI), the Automated Rail Infrastructure Inspection System (ARIIS), was introduced by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in partnership with Keolis MHI and Future Maintenance Technologies (FMT) to revolutionize maintenance operations for the Dubai Metro.
By reducing inspection times by 75% and greatly improving network safety, this state-of-the-art technology solidifies Dubai's standing as a world leader in smart mobility.
With its sophisticated LiDAR sensors, lasers, and 3D cameras, the ARIIS robot can autonomously scan infrastructure and rail tracks without interfering with metro operations.
Inspections used to take 2,400 man-hours, but ARIIS cuts that down to 700 hours, saving up to 70% on human work.
Predictive maintenance and early detection of any problems are made possible by the system's real-time data analytics, which also increases the accuracy of infrastructure assessments by 40%.
