The Browser Company has unveiled Dia, its new AI-first browser, now available in beta by invitation. Built on Chromium for a familiar user interface, Dia places artificial intelligence at the heart of the browsing experience, aiming to seamlessly integrate AI tools directly into users’ daily workflows.
Dia’s standout feature is its AI chatbot, built into the URL bar. Users can search the web, summarise uploaded files, switch between chat and search, ask questions about open tabs, and even have the bot draft content based on those tabs.
The chatbot is highly customizable—users can set its tone, writing style, and coding preferences simply by conversing with it.
An opt-in “History” feature lets Dia use up to seven days of browsing history as context for more relevant answers. The “Skills” feature enables users to build code snippets as shortcuts, allowing for personalised browser automation reminiscent of Siri Shortcuts, but designed for web tasks.

While AI chatbots in browsers are not entirely new—competitors like Opera Neon and Google Chrome have rolled out similar features—Dia distinguishes itself with deep integration, user-friendly customisation, and a focus on streamlining the AI experience.
