Tata Motors Expands EV Charging Network with Delta and Thunderplus

Under the MoU terms, Tata Motors will identify suitable locations and recommend dealerships for the installation of new charging stations.

Tata Motors, India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with Delta Electronics India and Thunderplus Solutions Pvt Ltd to bolster the country's electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles, particularly for last-mile deliveries.

Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MoU), Tata Motors will identify suitable locations and recommend dealerships for the installation of new charging stations. Delta Electronics will provide the necessary charging hardware, while Thunderplus Solutions will oversee the installation and operation of these stations.

"Our goal is to make emission-free transportation accessible to all," said Vinay Pathak, Vice President and Business Head of SCV & PU at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles. "By expanding the charging network, we're encouraging more customers to adopt electric commercial vehicles, which not only contributes to a cleaner environment but also improves vehicle uptime and profitability."

Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India Pvt Ltd, expressed the company's commitment to providing innovative and sustainable solutions.

"This partnership allows us to contribute significantly to India's electric cargo ecosystem. Our advanced charging technology will enhance the user experience for electric commercial vehicle drivers nationwide."

Rajeev YSR, CEO of Thunderplus Solutions Pvt Ltd, emphasized the company's focus on delivering reliable and convenient charging solutions.

"This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to drive sustainable transportation solutions across India."

The partnership will initially focus on expanding the charging network for Tata Motors' Ace EV, a popular small commercial vehicle designed for last-mile deliveries. With over 150 Electric Vehicle Service Centers across India, Tata Motors is well-positioned to support the growing demand for electric commercial vehicles.

This strategic alliance between Tata Motors, Delta Electronics, and Thunderplus Solutions marks a significant step towards building a robust EV charging infrastructure in India, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
