Zomato Limitless Delivery: Order From Restaurants Up To 40 km Away

Zomato has launched Limitless Delivery, a feature that lets customers order from restaurants up to 40 km away within their own city. It is live in seven cities: Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune and Hyderabad.

Until now, the app largely showed restaurants based on their proximity to the delivery address, so a household in Gurugram saw Gurugram. Customers can reach the farther restaurants through a quick link under the Explore More section on the Zomato homepage, which opens a list of well-known restaurants now within reach, or by searching for a restaurant and checking out as usual. Delivery times are yet to be specified.

Limitless Delivery stays inside one city and one delivery network. Eternal said in its shareholders’ letter for the September quarter that over 65% of Zomato app opens are exploratory, with users browsing an average of 12 menus and over 100 food images before ordering.

It is a different idea from Zomato’s earlier push on distance. Intercity Legends, launched in August 2022, flew dishes between cities and was shut down in August 2024 after the company did not find product market fit.

Distance carries a cost. Since July 2025, Zomato has charged restaurants a long-distance delivery fee on orders above Rs 150, of Rs 20 for deliveries of 4-6 km and Rs 40 beyond 6 km, with total commissions capped at 30% of order value. Rival Swiggy has meanwhile pointed to short-distance orders as one lever behind its best-ever food delivery margin.

”People often have favourite restaurants that aren’t close to where they live. With Limitless Delivery, customers can now order from restaurants up to 40 km away,” said Aditya Mangla, CEO of Zomato.
