Uber acquired all of Berlin-based chauffeur service Blacklane on August 13 for a total purchase price of $554 million in cash, according to its quarterly filing for the period ended September 30. Uber had announced the deal in March without disclosing terms.

Of the price, Uber recorded $439 million as goodwill and $95 million as intangible assets. It said the acquisition will expand its premium and executive transportation offerings globally.

The deal could translate into roughly $125 million for Blacklane’s Gulf shareholders, based on their recorded stakes, FWDStart estimated from German corporate filings that show four Saudi and Emirati entities among the shareholders. How the proceeds were distributed has not been disclosed.

Saudi Arabia’s TASARU Mobility Investments led Blacklane’s €60 million Series G in October 2024, Blacklane said at the time, naming Mercedes-Benz Mobility, the UAE’s Gargash Enterprises and Al Fahim Group, the Alstin Family and RI Digital Ventures among its existing investors.

At the time, Blacklane said it planned to launch in several Saudi cities with an electric fleet, and it had launched in-city services in Dubai.
