Indian Startup VC Funding Hits $418M in First Week of October

Venture capital flowing into Indian startups hit $418 million across 22 deals in the first week of October 2026. The total marks a solid step up from the $382 million recorded the previous week.

The week was carried by large rounds in Physical AI, electric vehicle manufacturing, and healthcare. Early-stage funds and non-convertible debt activity were also strong.

The largest disclosed deal went to SiMa.ai. The company secured a $150 million Series C round with backing from Fidelity, Dell Technologies Capital, and Amplify. The capital will be used to scale its hardware-software platform for Physical AI.

In the EV space, agricultural machinery maker Balwaan Krishi raised Rs 100 crore, which is approximately $10.4 million. The round was led by First Bridge India Growth Fund Private Equity, alongside other institutional investors.

Investment activity spanned a wide set of sectors beyond the mega-rounds. Deeptech and AI drew significant interest. Home interiors, edtech, and MSME lending also saw new deals close during the week.

The sustained momentum into October points to a market where large, thesis-driven bets coexist with broad early-stage activity.

For global limited partners and corporate investors tracking the India-Gulf corridor, the concentration of capital in deep technology and electrification signals where the country's startup ecosystem is building durable moats, moving well past the demand-aggregation plays of the last cycle.
