SiMa.ai raises $150M Series C at $1.45B valuation

Physical AI startup SiMa.ai has raised $150 million in a Series C funding round, taking its total capital raised to $500 million and valuing the startup at $1.45 billion.
The round was co-led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Amplify. Alter Venture Partners, Dell Technologies Capital, Maverick Capital, +ND Capital, Point72 and StepStone Group also participated.
AllianceBernstein, Baron Capital, J.P. Morgan and the State of Michigan joined the round as new investors.
SiMa.ai said it will use the funding to scale Palette Neat, its agentic software environment for physical AI, and develop its next generation of hardware.
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in San Jose, California, SiMa.ai develops a software-centric physical AI platform combining purpose-built silicon and software.
Physical AI broadly refers to AI systems that can perceive and interact with the physical world. Counterpoint Research estimates that cumulative shipments of physical AI devices, including vehicles, robots and drones, will reach 145 million units between 2025 and 2035.

SiMa.ai is seeking to compete in a market where demanding AI workloads are often handled by GPUs. Its platform combines specialised silicon and software to make it easier to deploy AI models on physical edge devices.
“Physical AI in humanoids, automotive, and drones is the gateway to a $50 trillion market that has remained largely untouched by modern innovation,” founder and CEO Krishna Rangasayee said.
Mike Dauber, general partner at Amplify Partners, said SiMa.ai had reduced the complexity involved in deploying advanced AI models on physical edge devices and helped shorten the time needed to bring autonomous systems to market.
“We believe SiMa.ai has all the ingredients to become a category-defining, iconic technology company,” Dauber said.
Gen 3 platform to target 1,000 dense TOPS
A major part of the new investment will go towards SiMa.ai's next generation of hardware. The platform is being designed to deliver 1,000 dense tera operations per second, or TOPS, of computing performance using purpose-built physical AI silicon.
Its next-generation hardware offerings are planned for the first half of 2028 and are expected to include machine learning intellectual property, chiplets and systems-on-chip.
TOPS, or trillions of operations per second, is a measure commonly used to describe the computing performance of AI processors.
SiMa.ai plans to target applications including medium- to high-end drones, humanoid robots, automotive advanced driver assistance systems, known as ADAS, and AI-powered vehicle cockpits with the new platform.
Rangasayee said the company's second-generation platform was already in production and that the latest funding would help speed up work on its third generation.
