In July 2023 the world received a new endeavor from the infamous Elon Musk aka the Tony Stark of real life who is famous for his visionary mind but known for the reality which he creates from his mind.
Now his interest in AI is more than just admiration. AI has been the single most influential creation of this decade and it's changing our world faster than we could have ever anticipated.
Companies he has been a part of
This is not Elon’s first AI endeavor. He was the co-founder of OpenAI with Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, Ilya Sutskever, John Schulman, and Wojciech Zaremba in 2015. But Elon parted ways from Sam and OpenAI because the direction that OpenAI took wasn’t the intention of Elon.
He intended OpenAI to be open source and it was meant to help the people, but it changed its direction and became a more corporate tool that is being used by the mega-conglomerate for data analysis. And that was more or less the reason Elon left the company in 2018.
When he took over Twitter, he got to know that OpenAI was using the user database of Twitter to help their AI learning model and he put a stop to that too.
Then came the news, which shook the AI world. Elon Musk came out with a new promising AI venture which might be the answer for the world where all of this is going.
What is the idealogy behind it?
The main motive or the ideologies behind this venture is not very clear but they have mentioned their goal is to provide an understanding of the true nature of the universe.
They have not mentioned the proper schedule for the launch of the services they are gonna provide. This new project involves some of the biggest names in this industry who will work under Elon Musk to make the imagination of his consciousness into reality.
Some of these names are Igor Bauschkin, Manuel Kroiss, Yuhuai (Tony) Wu, Christian Szegedy, Jimmy Ba, Toby Pohlen, Ross Nordeen, Ky.e Kosic Greg Yang, Guodong Zhang, Zihang Dai.
This vast team may become the reason for the changed perspective of humans seeing AI because our entertainment industry has shown us glimpses of the future, and with the introduction of AI, this imagination is being seen as a new reality. Imagine the future that was shown to us in Love, Death, and Robot or Pacific Rim or Terminator.
It is terrifying, and it seems like we know the traumatizing result which is waiting on the end of the road but we are still marching forward towards it and feeding our curiosity to be right and wrong.
But what if I tell you that the imagination which has been shown to us is mere imagination and what is waiting in the future for us is way better than what we are fearing? Like the speculation does take a huge gamble.
But I like the idea that there is a better future, and to make it better we can’t pause the whole revolution we have to embrace it. Ask questions and help our leaders to form better policies and make better decisions.
You not adapting to change will never be the answer. Let’s embrace it and change it to the better future that we all deserve.
