Vecton AI raises Rs 6 crore pre-seed funding for BFSI AI

Bengaluru-based Vecton AI has raised Rs 6 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Zeropearl VC, with participation from startup founders and operators; the company did not disclose a valuation.

Founded by BITS Pilani alumni Himanshu Goyal and Gaurav Mandlecha, Vecton positions itself as a business-driven, AI-first transformation partner focused exclusively on mid-market and enterprise financial institutions. Rather than selling AI toolkits, the startup identifies business problems inside a bank or insurer, builds customised AI systems, and deploys them into live production environments.

A key differentiator is its Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) model, which embeds AI engineers directly alongside customer teams to ensure systems are designed around operational requirements and compliance — not just technical benchmarks. Vecton reports it is already engaged with 10 customers, including several publicly listed companies, with its systems running in live production.

The round matters because it signals demand for an unglamorous but high-value gap in the India–Gulf corridor’s financial infrastructure: bridging the chasm between an AI proof-of-concept and a fully operational, governed deployment inside a regulated institution.

For global partners and investors watching India’s BFSI tech stack mature, a startup that can claim live production deployments — not just pilots — inside listed financial institutions offers a more durable entry point than the crowded horizontal-AI space. The dedicated FDE model also creates a natural moat; integration and compliance are precisely where most enterprise AI projects stall, and embedding engineers on the floor shifts the risk equation for risk-averse buyers.

“Our engagements start with the business problem, not the technology. Our engineers work alongside the customer's team on their actual problem statements, and build AI solutions that are compliant and hold up in production. That's what changes outcomes inside a financial institution, and this funding enables us to transform more clients,” Gaurav Mandlecha, co-founder of Vecton AI, said.

Zeropearl VC managing partner Bipin Shah added that financial institutions were looking for AI solutions capable of delivering measurable business outcomes rather than “just promising possibilities,” and that Vecton stood out for its “practical, execution focused approach and the founders' deep understanding of the BFSI ecosystem.”

The fresh capital will be directed at developing enterprise-ready AI solutions, deepening Vecton’s presence across banking, financial services and insurance, and strengthening the FDE model that underpins its delivery.
