US Stocks via GIFT City: Groww Opens Access to Select Users

Groww has rolled out access to US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds to select customers, marking its entry into international investing. The offering lets users buy and sell US securities directly through the Groww app and supports fractional investing.
The launch follows Groww’s acquisition of an International Financial Services Centre Authority licence for global investing through GIFT City in July.
What Groww does
Groww is an investment platform whose core businesses include broking and mutual funds. It has also added commodities trading, expanded its margin trading facility, and scaled its wealth management offering.

For the new service, Groww has partnered with Alpaca Securities, a US brokerage infrastructure provider. Users will have access to more than 10,000 US stocks and ETFs, including Alphabet, Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon and Meta.
Why the move matters beyond India
International investing could provide another avenue for growth as retail investors increasingly seek exposure to global assets.
Groww’s international investing entry comes as peers Zerodha, Angel One and Upstox have secured GIFT City approvals to offer US stocks. Upstox is the only one among the four that has already launched its offering earlier this month.
