Upsurge India leads over ₹50 crore secondary deal in iD Fresh
Upsurge India leads a secondary transaction worth over ₹50 crore in iD Fresh Food, about 1% equity, letting early investor Blue Ashva Capital exit.

Upsurge India has led a secondary transaction worth over ₹50 crore in iD Fresh Food, involving the transfer of about 1 per cent equity in the Bengaluru-based fresh-food company.
Triumph Global Fund and White Whale Ventures co-led the transaction with Upsurge India. It enabled early investor Blue Ashva Capital to exit its investment.
Founded in 2005, iD Fresh built its business around fresh, preservative-free and ready-to-cook Indian food products, starting with idli and dosa batter before expanding into Indian breads, chutneys and other categories.
Revenue crossed ₹870 crore in FY26, recording annual growth of over 25 per cent. The company is working towards a potential public listing, with late 2027 previously indicated as a target, subject to market conditions and its ability to strengthen profitability.
Such transactions allow existing investors to realise liquidity while providing new investors access to established businesses without requiring the company itself to raise fresh capital.
Satyam Goyal, head of equities at Upsurge India, said the investment decision was driven by the underlying business. “We didn’t really look at it from the perspective of an IPO. We underwrote the business underneath. The business is growing amazingly well, solidly well. It was available at what we considered an attractive valuation, and honestly, it’s the people you back,” Goyal said, referring to founder P.C. Musthafa.
Goyal added that scaled consumer businesses with established market positions are not readily available in the private market, making it important for investors to be patient when they identify a strong opportunity.
Goyal believes India’s private secondary market is still evolving, with participation from family offices, institutional investors and dedicated private-market funds expected to expand.
