The Pune-based agritech startup, Two Brothers Organic Farms, has raised Rs 58.2 crore in an equity funding round led by Zerodha cofounder Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter Foundation. Silicon Valley entrepreneur Raju Chekuri, founder of the cybersecurity firm NetEnrich, also participated in the funding round.

The company aims to maintain a positive growth curve, achieve a revenue of Rs 500 crore in the next four years, and support over 50,000 farmers. They also aim to use the funding to explore demand-side opportunities, expand supply-side operations, and grow their business in India and the US.

“This substantial funding will empower us to cater to our consumers in India and help us assist Indian farmers in embracing organic farming practices. The funding has been a revolution as we have always wanted patient and conscious capital to support our growth,” cofounders Satyajit Hange and Ajinkya Hange said in a joint statement.

Founded in 2014, Two Brothers Organic Farms led a funding round of Rs 14.5 crore in April 2023, which saw Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and cricketer Virender Sehwag emerge as critical investors.

In other news, Zerodha's Nithin Kamath recently shed light on the surge in Indian equity markets. He noted that since the pandemic, hundreds of thousands of new investors have joined the market.

According to Kamath, over the past four years, these investors have earned a profit of Rs 50,000 crore and currently hold unrealized profits of Rs 1 lakh crore from a total asset under management (AUM) of Rs 4.5 lakh crore.
