Suminter India Organics has raised Rs 25 crore (approximately $2.6 million) in debt funding from BlackSoil Capital. The Mumbai-based company operates a fully integrated farm-to-market platform for certified organic and sustainably sourced food ingredients.

Led by Sameer Mehra, Suminter manages sourcing, certification, processing, and global distribution — supplying spices, coconut products, oilseeds, cocoa, sweeteners, and natural fibres to food and ingredient brands in the U.S., Europe, and other international markets.

The fresh capital will be used to source high-quality organic ingredients at scale while deepening engagement with its network of over 100,000 smallholder farmers across India, the Philippines, and Africa.

The platform is designed to deliver end-to-end traceability, promote regenerative agricultural practices, and improve farmer livelihoods — connecting fragmented smallholder supply to the quality assurance demands of global buyers.

For international food brands and ingredient buyers, Suminter represents a pre-audited corridor into certified organic supply chains that are traceable to the farm level — a structural advantage as compliance requirements in the U.S. and EU tighten.

The debt round, modest in size, signals operational maturity: the company is financing working capital against a proven procurement engine rather than building one from scratch, a milestone lenders like BlackSoil underwrite. The company has not disclosed its valuation.
