Agriculture drone startup Suind has raised Rs 20.5 crore (approximately $2.2 million) in a fresh funding round led by Transition Venture Capital Fund, with participation from CIIE Initiatives. The round values the Bengaluru-based company at an estimated Rs 80 crore ($8.4 million) post-money, according to regulatory filings.
The investment is structured as a CCPS issuance—5,107 shares at Rs 40,132.20 each—with Transition Venture Capital Fund contributing Rs 20 crore and CIIE Initiatives putting in Rs 50 lakh. Post-allotment, Transition Venture Capital Fund will hold a 25% stake, making it Suind's largest external shareholder. Co-founders Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber will each retain 25.08%.
Founded in 2020 by Shrivastava and Kleber, Suind builds autonomous drone systems purpose-built for agriculture. Its flagship platform, Bumblebee, layers computer vision onto autonomous navigation to handle crop monitoring, anomaly detection, and precision spraying—tasks that typically demand significant manual labour and chemical guesswork.
The company now plans to deploy the fresh capital to extend its drone technology into industrial use cases. That pivot matters: it signals that the underlying autonomy stack—navigation, obstacle avoidance, precision actuation—is maturing beyond single-sector applications.
For global agribusiness and industrial buyers watching India's drone ecosystem, a platform that proves itself in the unstructured environment of a farm and then adapts to industrial inspection or logistics offers a different risk profile than a single-use drone maker.
Suind remains pre-revenue, with a loss of Rs 1.89 crore in FY25, its latest available filings. The company last raised capital in November 2023—a Rs 5 crore seed round from Sunicon Ventures, Zetta Farms, and angel investors.
It competes in a domestic market that includes Marut Drones, Garuda Aerospace, IoTechWorld Avigation, BharatRohan, and Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, all of which are chasing the intersection of precision agriculture and supportive government drone policy in India.
