Sorry Sugar appoints Palash Arneja as CEO after $1M seed

Zero-added-sugar beverage brand Sorry Sugar has appointed Palash Arneja as its Founder and CEO. The appointment was announced on 6 October, following the Gurugram-based startup’s $1 million seed funding round led by the Dhanuka family and Amishi London.

Sorry Sugar operates in the flavoured coffee segment. Its products use monk fruit as a sweetener alongside prebiotic fibre. The current range includes Hazel Almond Latte, Silk Chocolate Mocha, Sea Salt Caramel, French Vanilla Cloud and Butter Gooey Toffee.

The startup generated more than Rs 1 crore in revenue during its first month of operations and had three offline stores across Gurugram and Delhi. It plans to strengthen its presence across direct-to-consumer, quick-commerce and offline retail channels, and is preparing a range of zero-added-sugar gelatos.

Arneja previously helped incubate the brand alongside Wolfpack Labs. He founded fragrance brand BLA BLI BLU, which Sorry Sugar said had grown into a Rs 1,000 crore brand in less than a year, and co-founded Unikon.ai. He previously worked with Deloitte and HSBC.

“Consumers shouldn’t have to choose between health and taste,” Arneja said.
