Gurugram-based premium grocery platform Solgram has raised over $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital.

Hospitality entrepreneur Kapil Chopra also participated in the round. The funding comes within a quarter of Solgram’s launch.

Solgram said the fresh capital will go towards expanding its cold-chain infrastructure, strengthening its technology stack, deepening sourcing relationships and scaling operations across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Founded by Shashank Shekhar Sharma, Solgram runs a premium grocery platform focused on fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood and other temperature-sensitive products.

It aims to maintain product quality through an end-to-end temperature-controlled supply chain. That chain covers sourcing, quality inspection, storage, fulfilment and delivery.

Solgram operates temperature-controlled stores with dedicated zones for different product categories, along with sealed thermal packaging and dedicated last-mile infrastructure.

Its assortment spans fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood, bakery, gourmet pantry products and emerging food brands.

It also offers Mindful Mode, a health-focused shopping category featuring products with cleaner labels, nutritional information and provenance details.

The platform offers scheduled batched delivery and express delivery options.

The company is currently operational in Gurugram and plans to expand across the NCR before entering other Tier-I cities in the coming months.

It said it intends to build operational density and consistency in individual clusters before expanding into new markets.
