Smallest.ai Raises $13M Series A for Voice AI

Voice AI startup Smallest.ai has raised $13 Mn (around ₹108 Cr) in a Series A round led by Seligman Ventures, with participation from existing backers Sierra Ventures and 3one4 Capital. The round brings the company's total funding to more than $21 Mn.

The company, founded in 2023 by IIT Guwahati alumni Sudarshan Kamath and Akshat Mandloi, builds low-latency voice AI models designed to automate complex workflow operations.

Its platform rests on two models—Pulse STT Pro for speech-to-text and Lightning V3.1 for text-to-speech—which together support 38 languages and enterprise-grade capabilities like speaker diarisation, emotion detection, and code-switching. The startup counts TrueCaller, Readymode, and Premal among its clients.

The corridor lens: voice infrastructure that scales globally from day one

Smallest.ai's 38-language capability and code-switching support make the platform immediately relevant across the India–Gulf corridor, where multilingual contact centers and BPO operations are a structural necessity, not an edge case.

Funding rounds and cross-border capital moves, one email, five minutes.

A buyer evaluating voice AI infrastructure in the region is looking for low-latency models that don't break under mixed-language customer interactions—precisely the problem Smallest.ai claims its parallel-processing architecture solves.

The BPO vertical alone makes the India–Gulf corridor one of the largest addressable markets for voice automation, and a startup shipping production-grade models into it with TrueCaller and Readymode already on the client list has moved beyond experimental deployments.

Voice 4.0 and the parallel-processing bet

Alongside the funding, the company announced Voice 4.0, a tech framework built on its in-house Hydra architecture. Unlike conventional voice systems that process listening, reasoning, and speech generation sequentially, Hydra handles the three functions in parallel.

The startup will use the fresh capital to scale the platform across financial services, healthcare, contact centres, and BPO. It last raised $8 Mn in a seed round led by Sierra Ventures in October 2025, and currently employs around 60 people.
