RoadGrid secures Rs 13 Cr from Technology Development Board

RoadGrid, an EV charging hardware and software startup, has secured Rs 13 crore in financial assistance from the Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science and Technology.
The funding is part of a larger Rs 27.5 crore manufacturing project. Earlier this year, the company raised Rs 12 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Venture Catalysts. No valuation was disclosed for either raise.
The 2020-founded company develops a patented Universal EV Charger that supports electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and commercial EVs through a single platform.
It also builds energy management software. RoadGrid currently manages over 200 charging points, has deployed more than 100 chargers, and counts VinFast, HPCL, and IOCL among its enterprise partnerships.

Why it matters
The grant moves RoadGrid from a deployment-and-operations model into domestic manufacturing for EV charging hardware. The planned facility will produce 2,000 chargers annually—covering power electronics, thermal management, communication modules, control hardware, and metering systems—using locally manufactured components.
Commercial production is targeted for March 2027, and the company expects roughly Rs 100 crore in annual revenue at an initial output of 1,000 chargers. The project claims it will create more than 100 jobs.
For international buyers and energy partners evaluating India's charging infrastructure supply chain, a local manufacturing line backed by a government technology board signals that the corridor is building indigenous production capacity beyond assembly, with multi-vehicle compatibility as a design principle rather than an afterthought.
