Origin Raises $20M for Construction Robotics, Led by Accel

Origin, a physical AI startup building robots for interior construction, has raised $20 million in total funding. The round was co-led by Accel and Zacua Ventures.
Unilazer Ventures, Schema Ventures and Z21 also participated, along with angel investors from Anduril, Skild AI, 1X and Tesla.
Origin will use the funds to expand its robot fleet, deploy its flagship robot OG-1 and run customer pilots in the US and Europe. It also plans to extend its platform to more interior construction tasks.
Origin makes robots that automate interior construction work. OG-1, its flagship, currently handles wall finishing: applying compound, sanding and priming walls.
The robot is designed for commercial spaces, residential apartments, data centres, hotels and warehouses. Origin says it put its first robots on construction sites in New York within 10 months of its founding in 2025.
The robots run on a Construction Action Model, a foundation model built for construction workflows. It combines task planning, autonomous navigation and tool control so the machines can adapt as a site changes.

Origin is headquartered in San Francisco and is deploying in the US and Europe, with planned pilots in Germany, Sweden, France and Saudi Arabia.
Its pilot pipeline includes two large US drywall finishing contractors. The company is targeting 150 robots deployed by the end of 2027.

A report by Zacua Ventures, published with Hilti Ventures and 94 Ventures, said construction robotics startups drew $1.36 billion in venture funding in the first three quarters of 2025, against $612 million in all of 2024.
