Nabta Health secures PVP backing for $3M pre-Series A round

UAE-based healthtech startup Nabta Health has secured a fresh investment from Phoenix Venture Partners (PVP), which led the second close of the company's ongoing $3 million pre-Series A round.

The amount raised in this specific closing was not disclosed. PVP's investment includes both primary and secondary capital. The broader pre-Series A round has attracted participation from institutional investors, venture capital firms, family offices and high-net-worth investors.

Founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith, Nabta Health develops AI-powered preventive healthcare infrastructure. Its focus is on connecting patients, employers, insurers and healthcare providers to enable earlier intervention and more coordinated care.

The company combines early disease detection with Aya, an AI-supported care navigation tool, and hybrid digital and clinical care. Its origins are in direct-to-consumer women's health, and its clinics and expertise in women's health remain important enablers of its broader platform.

Dr. Mussaad Al-Razouki, Co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of PVP, will transition from his position on Nabta Health's Board, with Steve Khayat joining the Board as PVP's representative.

"NABTA has done the hard work of building its technology, clinical infrastructure and model, and is already demonstrating strong commercial traction," said Steve Khayat, Founder and CEO of Phoenix Venture Partners. "We believe the company is now at an inflection point where the focus can shift decisively toward go-to-market and sales acceleration."

Sophie Smith, Founder and CEO of Nabta Health, added: "PVP brings not only capital, but also the regional relationships and hands-on support that can help us accelerate our next phase of commercial growth and deepen our partnerships with employers, insurers and healthcare providers."

The funding will support commercial expansion, customer acquisition and strategic partnerships, particularly with employers, insurance companies and healthcare providers.
