What changed
Meta said it took action on 5.3 Mn pieces of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in India during the first half of 2026. More than 98% of the content was identified and addressed proactively before being reported.
Meta also said it rolled out AI-powered systems and upgraded ad review frameworks across Facebook and Instagram in India. These systems include LLM-driven checks for “signposting” in ads, AI-driven sweeps, and “red-teaming” AI agents to probe its defences.
Globally, Meta said it took down 33.2 Mn pieces of CSAM during the same timeframe, with a proactive detection rate exceeding 97%.
