Lighthouse Canton links Dubai and GIFT City in NRI wealth platform

Lighthouse Canton has launched Global Indian, a wealth-management platform spanning its regulated entities in India, GIFT City and Dubai, alongside its operations in Singapore and the United Kingdom. The Singapore-headquartered firm announced the launch on 28 July 2026.

The platform targets non-resident Indians and overseas investors whose assets and advisory relationships span more than one jurisdiction. Lighthouse Canton said it will provide consolidated reporting across markets, cross-border wealth structuring, and a single advisory relationship covering both international and India-domiciled holdings.

Its Keenai technology platform supplies portfolio analytics, lifecycle management, multi-market reporting and a digital investment marketplace. What makes the launch worth watching for the India–Gulf corridor is not the product but the structure beneath it. Global Indian places Dubai and GIFT City inside one operating model rather than treating them as separate distribution markets.

A Dubai-based NRI family can hold assets across India and other jurisdictions while receiving one consolidated portfolio view, subject to the rules that apply in each market.

The same architecture runs in the other direction, using GIFT City and India's remittance framework to connect resident Indian capital with international investments. Most firms serving this client base still bolt an offshore relationship onto a domestic one; this is an attempt to license the whole path.

The regulatory arrangement is what makes that possible, and it is unusually compact. Lighthouse Canton said its non-resident and international clients can access Indian markets through regulated entities in India and GIFT City. Its Dubai company, Lighthouse Canton Capital (DIFC) Pte. Ltd., holds a Category 3C licence from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, according to the firm's announcement.

The same company is registered in GIFT City IFSC and operates under International Financial Services Centres Authority regulation, while LC Capital India Pvt. Ltd. holds a portfolio-management licence from the Securities and Exchange Board of India. One entity carrying both a DIFC licence and a GIFT City registration is the detail that turns two jurisdictions into a single route.

For Indian residents, Lighthouse Canton said the platform will offer international diversification through India's Liberalised Remittance Scheme and GIFT City frameworks. The firm also introduced a Systematic Global Equities Fund domiciled in GIFT City alongside the platform. It did not disclose assets under management for Global Indian or the new fund in the announcement.

Global Indian is led by Sumegh Bhatia, Lighthouse Canton's managing director and chief executive for India and Global Indian. Prashant Tandon, managing director and chief executive for the UAE, is part of the cross-jurisdiction leadership group.

Firms serving mobile Indian capital have generally chosen a side: an Indian licence with an offshore referral partner, or a Gulf presence pointing clients back to India through someone else's permissions.

Global Indian is a working example of the alternative — building the corridor infrastructure in-house and holding the licences at both ends. Whether that becomes the pattern for wealth managers in this market is the question the next few launches will answer.
