Egyptian construction technology startup Kuadra has raised a funding round led by Edafa Venture Capital to bring what it calls Egypt's first unified AI-powered platform for the construction industry to market.

The amount was not disclosed, though Edafa Venture Capital described the transaction as a six-figure acquisition in June, made as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the AI and technology ecosystem.

Founded in 2025 by Ahmed Salem, Kuadra builds AI-powered workflow automation for contractors. Its platform is designed to manage an entire project lifecycle — analysing tender documents, extracting technical specifications, automating procurement, allocating work packages to suppliers and subcontractors, and evaluating bids — all within a single system.

The company claims its technology can compress a tender review that normally takes days or weeks into a matter of hours, producing structured summaries that capture materials, dimensions, brands, and country of origin automatically.

Why it matters: Egypt's construction sector is one of the largest contributors to national GDP, yet it remains a digital laggard despite generating precisely the kind of dense technical documentation that AI is well suited to process.

A platform that makes pre-construction workflows faster and less error-prone speaks directly to a pain point regional contractors and international procurement partners know well — and the company's stated intent to stretch into oil and gas suggests a roadmap built on adjacent industrial logic, not startup tourism.

For global investors watching the corridor, Kuadra is an early signal that construction-tech in the region may be moving from pilot-stage curiosity to operational necessity.

The new capital will fund product development, commercial expansion, and partnerships with major construction firms, alongside the planned push into oil and gas.
