Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre raises Rs 28 crore Series A

Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre has raised Rs 28 crore in a Series A round led by Alkemi Growth Capital.

The fresh funds will go towards entering new geographies, expanding clinical and staff capacity, developing specialised care programmes, and deepening insurance and corporate partnerships, Jagruti said.

Jagruti provides residential care for mental health conditions, addiction and dementia. The Pune-based organisation was founded by Amar Shinde, Vijaya Shinde and Hemant Shinde.

It operates more than 19 centres across nine cities, including Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. Those centres have over 1,600 beds and a team of more than 40 doctors. Jagruti claims to have treated more than 82,000 individuals.

Its programmes cover mental health conditions, addiction and substance use disorders, and neurological care.

The funding comes amid growing demand for structured mental health and rehabilitation services in India. However, the sector remains fragmented, with care largely delivered through standalone clinics and smaller independent establishments.

Jagruti plans to expand to over 40 centres and more than 4,000 beds across Tier I and Tier II cities over the next three to four years.

The investment expands Alkemi's exposure to healthcare delivery and adjacent segments. Its portfolio includes Redcliffe Labs in diagnostics, Medvital in medical devices, Datar Cancer Genetics in in-vitro diagnostics, and Medulance in emergency medical response. Jagruti is Alkemi's first investment in the mental health and rehabilitation segment of healthcare delivery.
