Indian Food Delivery Competition: Ownly Enters Hyderabad

The move
Indian food delivery competition is widening beyond Swiggy and Zomato. Rapido’s Ownly has expanded from Bengaluru into Hyderabad, while Swish has moved from quick food delivery into restaurant aggregation with its Swish Go marketplace. Flipkart is also testing its Eat In food delivery service in Bengaluru.
Ownly is processing over 50,000 orders a day in Bengaluru and has onboarded 10,000 restaurants in Hyderabad, with plans to expand that network to 30,000.
What Ownly does
Ownly is integrated into the Rapido app and offers restaurant partners zero commission, while drawing on Rapido’s existing mobility user base and delivery network for food orders.

Indian food delivery competition still faces a scale test
Swish Go’s model uses one commission rate for orders below ₹100 and another for orders above ₹100, while waiving packaging and platform fees. Flipkart’s service is likely to roll out before the end of 2026.
For the new entrants, early traction is only the first hurdle. Sustaining service, profitability and repeat customer behaviour will determine whether they can loosen Swiggy and Zomato’s hold.
