Epic Markets raises $10M pre-seed for UAE retail brokerage

Epic Markets, a UAE-based fintech building a multi-asset brokerage platform for retail investors, has raised $10 million in a pre-seed funding round. Karatage is the round's sole investor, marking the firm's first disclosed institutional backing.

Founded in 2026 by Kevin Kimmel and Brian Seegers, Epic Markets is developing a brokerage platform that applies institutional-grade trade execution standards to individual investors across multiple asset classes. The company aims to narrow the gap between the trading infrastructure available to large institutions and the tools typically offered to retail traders.

The capital will fund product development and platform expansion ahead of market rollout, with the company positioning its technology as a step change in execution quality through integrated multi-asset functionality.

Why it matters for the corridor

The $10 million pre-seed — unusually large for a company founded in the same year — signals conviction that retail investors in the Gulf and beyond are underserved by legacy brokerage infrastructure.

For global trading platforms and institutional liquidity providers looking at the India–Gulf corridor, a well-capitalised UAE entrant building execution quality as its differentiator is worth watching: it raises the floor for retail trading products across the region and creates a new integration surface for exchanges, market-makers, and wealth platforms seeking distribution into the GCC retail pool.
