DigitalPaani raises $2.3M for AI water management platform

Watertech startup DigitalPaani has raised ₹22 Cr (approximately $2.3 Mn) in a funding round led by Navam Capital. Terms of the round, including stage and valuation, were not disclosed.

Enzia Ventures, Chakra Growth Capital, 3one4 Capital, Momentum Capital, Achieving Women Entrepreneurs Early Growth Fund, and Echo River Capital also participated in the round.

Founded in 2020 by father-daughter duo Mansi Jain and Rajesh Jain, the Delhi NCR-based startup operates an AI- and IoT-powered software platform that helps businesses, utilities, and municipalities manage water and wastewater infrastructure.

The platform collects real-time data from treatment plants and other water assets, comparing actual performance against design parameters to pinpoint operational inefficiencies.

It then automates equipment management, maintenance scheduling, inventory tracking, and coordination across service teams. The result: higher wastewater recycling rates, fewer breakdowns, and plants that actually run at their intended capacity.

Funding rounds and cross-border capital moves, one email, five minutes.

That last point matters. DigitalPaani claims that 75% of India's critical water assets operate at severely reduced capacity not because equipment fails, but because day-to-day operations go unmanaged.

The startup says its deployments have brought non-compliant plants to full operation while cutting costs by 25%.

DigitalPaani currently serves more than 95 facilities across India, which together treat over 150 Mn litres of water daily. Its customer list includes Britannia, Leela Hotels, Tata Group, and the Delhi Jal Board.

The capital will fund expansion across industrial and municipal markets, scaling of operations for institutional customers, and an entry into international markets, with a portion allocated to strengthening core operations.

The raise arrives as India's wastewater treatment market, valued at $10.4 Bn in 2025 and projected to reach $19.4 Bn by 2034, per IMARC Group, faces growing pressure from water shortages, tightening environmental regulations, and rising demand for reuse infrastructure.
