BitDelta Securities Financial Services LLC has received full regulatory approval from the United Arab Emirates' Capital Market Authority under the Category 5, Arrangement and Advice licensing framework. The approval lets the company operate as an introducing broker in the UAE — a specific, limited role that's worth unpacking, because "introducing broker" is doing a lot of work in this story.

What the Category 5 licence actually authorises

Under the licence, BitDelta Securities can introduce eligible retail and professional investors to licensed international brokers offering foreign exchange, commodities, precious metals, indices, equities, bonds, exchange-traded funds, futures, options and spot market products.

That's the full scope. BitDelta itself does not hold or manage client funds, execute trades, or provide investment advice beyond what the licence permits. Trading decisions stay with the client; the brokers BitDelta introduces clients to are the ones responsible for trade execution and custody. In other words, BitDelta sits at the front door — onboarding and matching — not at the point where money or risk actually changes hands.

How BitDelta got here

The company said the UAE approval follows the in-principle approval it received earlier this year and completes the regulator's licensing process, including capital, governance and operational requirements.

The approval also lands as BitDelta expands elsewhere. In April this year, the company launched its FIU-registered virtual digital asset trading platform in India, entering that market as a Virtual Digital Asset Service Provider — a separate registration from the UAE brokerage licence, but part of the same multi-market build-out.

A Dubai office to run the region

Following the approval, BitDelta Securities has begun operating from its office in the Tamani Arts Offices Building in Business Bay, Dubai. The company says this office will serve as its operational hub for the UAE and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council region, supporting client onboarding, compliance, regulatory affairs and partner relations.

Group Chief Executive Officer Demetrios Zamboglou said the company had established a local presence in the UAE.

The Iress partnership: a separate, parallel move

Separately, BitDelta Pro has entered into a multi-year partnership with financial technology provider Iress. Under the agreement, BitDelta Pro will use Iress' trading and market data technology — including platforms, market data tools, API and FIX connectivity — as it adds equities and contracts for difference to its offering. This sits under the BitDelta Pro brand rather than the newly licensed UAE brokerage entity.

Why the distinction matters

For a reader trying to size up what BitDelta can now do in the UAE, the honest answer is: less than "broker" implies and more than "marketing partner" implies. It can bring clients to licensed brokers across a wide range of asset classes.

It cannot touch their money, execute their trades, or advise them beyond the scope the CMA has granted. Anyone evaluating BitDelta as a counterparty — or evaluating the UAE's Category 5 framework as a licensing path — should treat that boundary as the whole point of the story, not a footnote to it.
