B-Arm Raises Rs 4.8 Cr Pre-Series A Led by Mudhal Partners

B-Arm Medical Technologies, a Tamil Nadu-based healthcare startup, has raised Rs 4.8 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by Mudhal Partners (Zoho family), with participation from other high net worth individual investors. The startup did not disclose the valuation or the stake acquired.
The round takes B-Arm's total capital raised to approximately Rs 9 crore through a combination of debt and equity. Mudhal Partners is led by Kumar Vembu, a co-founder of Zoho. The funds will support expansion, product innovation, brand growth, and wider reach across India, with the next phase focused mainly on strengthening its presence in women's healthcare.
Engineering Women's Health From Experience
B-Arm's focus on women's health comes out of its co-founder's own experience. SruthiSri, a biomedical engineer and a mother of three, went through pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery and breastfeeding, and found that the difficulty was matched by how little any of it was openly discussed.
Her husband, B-Arm founder Barathram, is also a biomedical engineer. Watching those experiences led him to ask whether the couple's engineering background could be used to build practical, accessible products designed around what Indian women actually needed. B-Arm describes its philosophy as listening to the woman first and building the solution second.

B-Arm said its aim is to understand problems women often endure quietly and provide solutions, with products covering every stage of womanhood from puberty to menopause.
Beyond women's healthcare, the startup also sells products in the pulmonology and occupational therapy segments, including products for children with autism and speech difficulties. It holds 10+ patents.
Appearance on 'Startup Singam'
B-Arm got much attention when it appeared on Startup Singam, the startup investment reality show broadcast on Vijay Television and streamed on JioHotstar. It was among the few startups to receive one of the highest funding amounts offered on the show, and it was recognized with a Top Ten Startup award from approximately 3,000 applications received in the programme's second season.
