ASK Investment Managers acquisition of SageOne

The move
ASK Investment Managers has signed definitive agreements to acquire SageOne Investment Managers, an asset management firm operating across portfolio management services and alternative investment funds. The deal remains subject to regulatory and investor approvals.
The deal is estimated at around ₹2,000 crore, or approximately $200 million, according to an industry executive. Neither company disclosed financial terms. The combined entity is set to manage over ₹85,000 crore in assets.
SageOne founder Samit Vartak will reinvest in ASK and become Chief Investment Officer (Equities) for the combined investment management platform. Blackstone, which majority-owns ASK, will retain its controlling stake.

What ASK and SageOne do
SageOne operates across portfolio management services and alternative investment funds. SageOne currently manages nearly ₹9,000 crore, while ASK’s asset and wealth management group oversees assets exceeding ₹77,000 crore.
Acquisition expands equity capabilities
The acquisition gives ASK stronger equity investment capabilities and extends SageOne’s reach into ASK’s global distribution network spanning Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
