ARC raises Rs 10.5 Cr pre-seed for portable gaming system ARC X1

Kerala-based gaming technology company ARC has raised Rs 10.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Chimera VC and MIXI Global Investments, with participation from Dhruv Vohra, Director at Meta APAC, in his personal capacity.
Founded by Jobin Joseph and Kaustubh K. Jadhav, ARC is developing ARC X1, a portable gaming system aimed at making dedicated gaming hardware more accessible to Indian gamers. ARC X1 is built on an ARM-based architecture powered by Qualcomm technology and is designed to support Android gaming, PC-game compatibility and cloud gaming.

The company is building its own hardware and software stack, including its proprietary gaming operating system OWL OS. ARC has already crossed 50,000 waitlist sign-ups and has collaborated with Qualcomm ahead of its commercial launch. The company is also involving gamers in early testing and feedback to refine the product before launch.
The fresh capital will be used to accelerate hardware engineering, product validation, manufacturing and supply-chain readiness, while also supporting the development of OWL OS and ARC’s gaming software platform. The company will also expand its team, go-to-market capabilities and strategic partnerships.
